A New Way of Life

Jesus loves you more than you know. Jesus is a saviour who shared in some of the most painful aspects of being human - so that we can have eternal life.

Jesus knows our suffering because he also suffered. Jesus received cruel treatment here on earth despite never doing anything wrong. He was humiliated, betrayed, rejected, beaten and crucified. He grieved and mourned for those close to him that he lost. He can relate to our suffering no matter the situation we might be facing because he suffered too.

1 Peter 2 verses 21-23 in the Bible states that "...Christ [Jesus] suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth. When they hurled insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats"

God is merciful to us when we do wrong (when we sin), and he is merciful not because of the good things we have done or because we are a good person, but because of Jesus’ sacrifice for us on the cross. He died on the cross carrying all of our wrongdoings, all our sin so that we can be reconciled with God if we just ask for his forgiveness. We can’t save ourselves. Jesus is our saving grace.

Helen Woodhouse, a Christian writer said “We think we must climb to a certain height of goodness before we can reach God but that is not what he says in his Word (the Bible). Jesus is the way. Jesus is the road under our feet, the road that begins just as low down as we happen to be.”  Wherever you are today, whether you feel like you are in a hole that you can't get out of, or whether you feel like Jesus could never possibly love you because of what you have done in your life, please know that this is not true.

Jesus loves you no matter what you have done. You matter to Jesus. He can create something positive and beautiful out of all your negative choices.

If you want to personally know Jesus, then the next step is to call out to Jesus in prayer. Pray to Jesus and ask him for his forgiveness and love. Remember, God is for us, and not against us. Romans 10 verse 13 says that “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord (asking for forgiveness) will be saved.”
